Cold front pushing through
video

A low pressure system off the Pacific Northwest Coast and its accompanying cold front will trek into the region tomorrow. Monday morning, The Bay Area will begin with light rain with increasing southerly winds in the North Bay around Noon. As the cold front pushes inland tomorrow afternoon, rainfall rates will increase as the rainfall becomes relatively intense. Tomorrow will hold the best thunderstorm chances for the week. Heaviest activity will remain offshore. Firstly, southwest facing terrain will likely be the rainfall total winners with northwest-southeast oriented valleys getting rain shadowed. Secondly, as the next system (Tuesday/Wednesday) is coming from the northwest, with a southwest to northeast direction, it will be parallel to the moisture. This will likely slow the motion of the cold front with it potentially becoming stationary which would provide an area for continued rainfall. We will watch for any potential of training rain showers/thunderstorms which would pose the risk of flooding.

Sunday clouds

We are tracking a shifting pattern. Rain chances could be increasing later in the day Monday. The cool, unsettled weather pattern sticks around through Wednesday. Rainfall amounts could be pretty impressive for this time of year. The wettest parts of the North Bay could pick 1.25" of rainfall!
