PG&E's crews have been working since Tuesday to disassemble this transmission tower in the Willow Glen neighborhood of San Jose. A large Eucalyptus tree fell and destroyed the tower and at least three other power poles in the area came down during the storm.

California has put all of these Swiftwater rescue teams on standby. Officials found two people standing on top of a gray pickup truck that was surrounded by rushing water. Their vehicle started getting filled with water that was flowing and ended up being in a riverbed. Oakland firefighters rolled out long ladders and ran support groups for safety, with one being used as a temporary bridge.
Deceased woman found in submerged car, Sonoma sheriff says
The body of 43-year-old Daphne Fontino of Ukiah, Calif. was found in a car submerged in floodwaters in Forestville on Wednesday morning, the Sonoma County sheriff's office said. Fontino had apparently made an emergency call to say her car was filling with water on Tuesday, according to the county sheriff.
