The fire at the three-story home in the Presidio Terrace neighborhood was reported about 11:20 a.m. and was under control around noon.

In addition, a fire reported about 9:30 a.m. Sunday was burning multiple acres at the Gleneagles Golf Course at McLaren Park, with about 25 department personnel at the scene.

The explosion was at a one-story home at 197 Edinburgh St., but there were no injuries, the department said.

The fire department responded about 2:20 p.m. to a blaze at 2966 Mission St., which is the address of the Old Jerusalem Restaurant.

The California Highway Patrol closed the off-ramp from eastbound Interstate Highway 80 about 3:30 p.m. and issued a special traffic alert.

Multiple firefighters are on scene and appear to have a good handle on the fire.

The fire damaged the underside of the pier, Baxter said Saturday, and the pier will be examined by the port officials for structural integrity.
