Major BART delays into and out of San Francisco due to obstruction on the tracks.

The chief said the death is "tragic" and that a homicide aboard a BART train is "a rare occurrence."

A passenger waiting to board a BART train at the Pleasant Hill station was stopped by a BART police officer, detained and cited for eating a sandwich, a violation of state law, according to the transit agency.

The Califorina Highway Patrol said he saw the man in the SUV fire shots about 6:45 a.m. There were no injuries but the victim's car was damaged.
