The wind and rain turned icy in San Francisco Tuesday and across much of the East Bay. People sent their videos, which captured a quick moving hail storm that left pellet sized ice on the ground.

The severe weather to slam the Bay Area in recent weeks have resulted in torrential rains, flooding, mudslides, and powerful lashing winds that have knocked out power and brought down once-towering trees. On Tuesday, there was also hail, thunder, and lightning.

The transmission tower was mangled and twisted after wind and rain brought down a large Eucalyptus tree nearby, destroying the tower. PG&E says the amount of water in the ground weakened the tree’s foundation making it easier to topple.

The heavy rains and abundant snowfall in California in recent weeks have many people wondering what impact the storms have had on the state's reservoirs and severe drought.

The Bay Area was hit with more turbulent weather this week as heavy rain and damaging winds swept across the region, preceding another series of incoming storms and raising the potential for more road flooding, rising rivers and mudslides on soils already saturated after days of rain.

Meteorologist Roberta Gonzales returned to her driveway to say a blessing for her family on the day a semi-truck driver overturned in front of her. She believes it saved her from harm.
