Carlos Dominguez, a former University of California, Davis, student accused of killing two people and injuring another in stabbings near campus this year, is not competent to stand trial, according to the opinion of a court-appointed psychologist presented in court on Tuesday.

Owners of several 7-Eleven stores in Oakland say they're being targeted by thieves and that the problem is escalating. They've counted at least six incidents around the city since the beginning of August. Store owners say they believe the same group is responsible for these crimes.

The victims of a double homicide in a San Jose apartment have been identified by police as a boy and his great-grandmother. Police said the victims were killed in a stabbing. Their bodies were discovered by officers doing a welfare check on Friday morning at the Vista Apartments on the 1600 block of Parkmoor Avenue in the city's Buena Park neighborhood.

A shooting in San Francisco's Tenderloin was caught on video, showing a man firing shots and onlookers scrambling for cover. Surveillance video shows a man opening fire at Hyde and Ellis streets at about 11:10 p.m. Sunday. He is seen walking near the corner before he reacts to something - and then pulls out a gun and starts firing. Bystanders duck and run for safety.

A great-grandmother and a little boy were stabbed to death in San Jose.
