Ink Fire near Calistoga 100% contained at 50 acres

The Ink Fire, first reported about 2:35 p.m. Saturday off of Pope Valley Road six miles northeast of Calistoga in unincorporated Napa County, was declared 100 percent contained Sunday night, having burned about 50 acres of vegetation, Cal Fire said. There were no reports of injuries or of structures being damaged, Cal Fire said. Crews remained on the scene Sunday night.

Malech Fire burns 210 acres, 70% contained in Santa Clara County

A vegetation fire just east near U.S. Highway 101 between South San Jose and Morgan Hill in Santa Clara County has now consumed approximately 210 acres and is 50 percent contained, Cal Fire is reporting. The fire, dubbed the Malech Fire after the nearby Malech Road, was first reported at about 3:15 p.m. Sunday. The San Jose Fire Department is helping Cal Fire fight the fire.
