Bay Area artist scribing entire US Constitution with quill pens to get out the vote

A Brisbane artist is hoping her art, through the stroke of a pen, will help get out the vote this Election Day. Beth Grossman is in the process of transcribing the entire US Constitution on old US Mint money bags using quill feather pens. The pens are the same tool used by scribes of the original document in the 1700's.

Mixologists kick off 'Oakland Style' to showcase the best of The Town

Oakland kicked off a series of events on Wednesday night, designed to attract people to the city. It's called "Oakland Style." It highlighted the best of what the city has to offer in cuisine, culture, and art. There was a new event this year. Organizers added a mixologist competition.

Murals and live music come to downtown Concord

Electro-pop duo Goldfish plays free SF Live concert in Union Square

Celebrating Juneteenth in the Bay Area

First Pride month for Oakland's new LGBTQ District

Oakland's new Lakeshore LGBTQ Cultural District is marking its first Pride month this June, with events and fundraising efforts to build a flagpole and create rainbow crosswalks for the district that rests between Lakeshore Avenue and Grand Avenue near the historic Grand Lake Theatre.

SF Downtown First Thursdays returns for round two

A popular San Francisco block party returns tonight for a much anticipated encore. Last month, 20,000 people turned out for the debut of Downtown First Thursdays in San Francisco's SOMA neighborhood; featuring a live DJ set by Aluna, an outdoor art gallery and food vendors filling 2nd Street between Market and Folsom. It's all part of an effort to breathe life back into parts of the city still struggling to recover from the pandemic and tonight the June block party kicks off with an emphasis on Pride. Bay Area high school senior's art to hang in U.S. Capitol

A Burlingame high school senior won first place for her artwork as a part of the congressional art competition. The piece focuses on raising awareness about gun violence in America. The winner was selected by Rep. Kevin Mullin from California's 15th district and the teen's art will be displayed in Washington, D.C. at the Capitol building.
