If these clouds manage to spark thunderstorms, any falling rain will evaporate in the hot, bone-dry lower air before touching the soil (virga). This creates a dangerous "low probability, high impact" scenario for a dry lightning storm. Because regional plants and brush are rapidly drying out, dry lightning hits combined with erratic, gusty thunderstorm winds could instantly ignite explosive wildfires. Pockets of high-based rain showers may slide through Monday.
