SFPD Chief Scott offers rare apology to man shot and injured by plainclothes officer

San Francisco’s chief of police on Thursday offered a rare public apology for the plainclothes officer involved in shooting and injuring a man last week during the investigation of what they called a “known auto burglary suspect.” The officer who fired his weapon also issued an apology through his attorney.
