San Leandro police and firefighters were on scene early Thursday morning after they responded to a fire and explosion sparked by butane and honey oil.

San Leandro officials won't identify two police officers involved in the fatal shooting of Steven Taylor inside a Walmart over alleged violent threats directed against the department.

The collision happened sometime before 5:30 a.m. in the home in the 200 block of Bancroft Avenue, police said.

Police said Ethel Henderson was last seen at the Juana Avenue care facility where she lives. She is black, 5-feet, 6-inches tall, 130 pounds, last seen wearing white pants and a black and white striped shirt.

Questions swirled Monday over whether San Leandro police were justified in fatally shooting a man with a baseball bat inside a Walmart store.

Police say they don't know why the man was wielding the bat or why he refused to put it down.

The shooting took place just inside of the entrance of the Walmart store located at 1555 Hesperian Blvd.
