The man is suspected in an earlier home-invasion, reported at 10:20 a.m. at a house in the area of Warm Springs Boulevard and Brown Road, according to Fremont police.

Police said John Creech Jr., 20, of Hayward, was shot in the area of Santa Clara Way and Yolo Street at about 4:45 p.m. on Saturday and was pronounced dead at the scene.

“All Oaklanders deserve to be treated with dignity and respect,” Oakland Mayor Libby Schaaf tweeted.
