A man suspected of kidnapping, beating and a woman and then leaving her in the Oakland hills died after a chase and confrontation with police in Richmond, authorities said.

New aerial video shows a suspect slamming a white van into several police cruisers during a chase that ended in Richmond Thursday night. The suspect was killed either by police gunfire or a self-inflicted wound, a domestic violence victim is not expected to survive her injuries. Two officers suffered non-life threatening injuries.
