Powerful 6.1M earthquake in Cuba felt in Florida, one of strongest ever recorded in the Gulf

Did you feel it? A 6.1-magnitude earthquake struck near Mantua, Cuba on Monday, June 8, with reports of shaking and tremors being felt as far away as Jacksonville, Florida. At a magnitude 6, it is now one of the strongest earthquakes recorded in the Gulf region, according to USGS historical records.

3.6 earthquake strikes the East Bay

The epicenter was recorded about 2.7 miles north/northwest of the town of Danville, and about 12 miles east of Oakland

5 quakes rattle Northern California

The Northern California coast was rattled by five earthquakes on Wednesday morning, with four of them reported off Humboldt County coastline near Eureka, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.
