There are light-to-moderate northeast winds with poor humidity forecasted on Monday and Tuesday followed by moderate-to-strong winds on Wednesday and Thursday. 

Firefighters late Saturday afternoon have stopped forward progress on a vegetation fire at Santa Teresa County Park just south of San Jose in unincorporated Santa Clara County, Cal Fire said on social media.

The warning comes a little more than a week after a destructive fire broke out on the edge of Los Angeles, destroying at least 17 structures and damaging dozens more.

CalFire is reporting mandatory evacuations have been lifted in Lake County Thursday night, stemming from a 7 to 10 acre wildland fire in the area of Highway 29 and Spruce Grove Road. 

California's largest utility pledged to improve communications. But it reminded state regulators that its difficult decision to pre-emptively shut off power to more than 2 million people last week may have prevented deadly wildfires.

The fire began around 1 p.m. with four trees and a small grassy area engulfed in flames. When crews arrived, they reported the fire was 2 to 3 acres in size.

Monday is the final day to file a claim with the bankruptcy court, yet fewer than half of eligible victims have done so. 

A Santa Rosa restaurant is considering seeking damages incurred from last week's PG&E power outages since their insurance policy won't help.

Governor Newsom is demanding that PG&E be held accountable for the power shutoffs that left two million Californians without electricity last week. 

As of 7 a.m. Saturday, power was up and running for 98 percent of Santa Cruz County customers affected by this week's shutoff.

By Friday morning, Alameda County was 78 percent restored and Contra Costa County was 85 percent restored. Santa Clara County was 88 percent restored.

Northern California fire officials say a man dependent on oxygen died about 12 minutes after Pacific Gas and Electric shut down power to the area as part of a massive effort to prevent fire.
