A major clue in Pickett Fire's origins handed to CAL FIRE

A Calistoga vintner has voluntarily handed CAL FIRE what may be a major clue to finding the true origin of the Pickett Fire. That fire started near Calistoga on August 21st and ultimately consumed 6,800 acres.

CAL FIRE LNU reported at 3:24 p.m. that a fire was burning near the 2300 block of Pickett Road and warned the public to use caution while traveling through the area.

Evacuation orders lifted for East San Jose vegetation fire

Firefighters with the San Jose Fire Department and Cal Fire got the upper hand in battling a nearly 100-acre vegetation fire that started late Tuesday afternoon. The fire was 75% contained and earlier evacutation orders had been lifted by late evening.
