BART service through downtown Oakland resumed and stations reopened after a gas leak was capped Saturday afternoon, officials said.

An Amtrak train heading in the southbound direction collided with a dump truck at Fruitvale Ave. & E 10th St. around 9 a.m. on Thursday, March 18, 2021. After the collision, the driver told a KTVU photographer his truck had broken down and was stuck on the tracks. When the train began to approach his truck he jumped out, saving his life.
