The Tesla factory that employs thousands of people could be forced to close after Alameda County on Tuesday night declared it a “nonessential business” under the county’s shelter-in-place order.

The city of Fremont revoked operating permits for eight massage establishments last week after a multi-department city investigation found "substantial evidence of prostitution activity," police said.

The city says the Irvington District is a historic district with a lot of older buildings, and many industrial businesses.

Police in Fremont are investigating a shooting that left a mother and her newborn, just two weeks old, injured Tuesday afternoon. It happened on Vallejo Way near Mission Boulevard in the Fremont’s Niles District.

Fremont police say a man described as a transient was arrested for sexually assaulting a woman who was working out at a 24 Hour Fitness Monday evening. 

A driver cited on suspicion of drinking and driving under the influence brought down a power pole in Fremont early Monday morning, police said. 

A CHP officer has been charged in Alameda County with unlawful sex with a child, Fremont police said Monday.

A 40-year-old man was arrested late Sunday night in Fremont after allegedly backing into a police vehicle while attempting to flee from officers, police said.

The city says the goal is to keep people from parking there, especially the homeless. 

Video shows a red Chevy with its driver side shattered. At least four bullet  holes pierced the side of the car.

City officials say there have been too many concerns about property damage, traffic, safety and trash.

The two friends told police they did not recognize the suspect vehicle that pulled up alongside them and opened fire. Police don’t have a description of that vehicle.

Officers reunited a young child found at a park in Fremont with her mother Tuesday evening. 

Police said the group mostly lives in the Hayward/San Leandro area, where there are similar problems with young bicyclists there.

Video on YouTube of the Union City intersection showed cars spinning in circles performing donuts and burnouts as passengers hung out of windows. Meanwhile, spectators cheered on.
