DA seeks to try teen as adult in triple Westfield Valley Fair mall shooting

Prosecutors announced on Wednesday that they are seeking to try a 17-year-old boy accused in a Black Friday triple shooting at the Westfield Valley Fair mall as an adult, and charges against three other people who they say acted as accessories after the fact.

Animal activists are applauding the decision by the owners of Golden Gate Fields to close it's thoroughbred horse racing track in the East Bay at the end of the year. The track has been in operation since 1941. Eight race horses have died at Golden Gate Fields since January of 2023.
