North Bay preps for atmospheric river

Wednesday was the calm before the storm in parts of the Bay Area, including at the Golden Gate Bridge, where by night, winds whipped in the air as the atmospheric river approached.

As the utility forewarned, Pacific Gas & Electric turned off power to a portion of customers, mostly in the East Bay, on Thursday in a preventive measure to reduce the risk of wildfires as high winds and dry conditions are expected through Saturday.
