San Mateo Police Department have identified and arrested a rape suspect after putting out calls to the public to check surveillance cameras for evidence, officials said on Tuesday. 

San Mateo police are asking for residents to check their home surveillance cameras to see if they could have evidence of a sexual assault and beating of a woman on Wedesday night. 

Jeffrey Aspillera allegedly misappropriated the funds over a course of three years while serving as a treasurer for the Foster City Little League. 

The sighting was reported around 5:40 a.m. by officers on routine patrol in the area of the college at 1700 W. Hillsdale Blvd.

San Mateo police are alerting the community of a mountain lion sighting in Laurelwood Park Thursday morning. 

Jose Armenta Lopez allegedly strangled and sexually assaulted his ex-girlfriend after they had argued and she reported the incident to local police after the suspect dropped her off.

Grant Sullivan Evans was arrested around 2 p.m. at his home.

The separation project will raise the tracks and lower 25th Avenue so vehicle and pedestrian traffic can pass underneath the tracks.

James Robert Sibbert, 54, was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, domestic violence and driving under the influence, according to the San Mateo Police Department.
