Members of the community are stepping up by donating much needed medical supplies to first responders. And now a new program in Santa Clara County aims to help by picking them up from your porch.

Authorities confirmed Friday night that the man who received CPR from Sunnyvale first responders, and who later died, did not test positive for COVID-19 (coronavirus).  

Five Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety officers who performed CPR on a 72-year-old man, who later died during an emergency call on Thursday, are not being tested for the coronavirus (COVID-19), officials said. 

Sunnyvale's Measure B and Santa Clara's Measure C would move the two cities to district-based systems, doing away with the citywide at-large systems the two had used to elect councilmembers in the past.

Authorities in Sunnyvale arrested a UPS worker on Sunday, potentially thwarting a mass workplace shooting.

A snowboarder from Sunnyvale has been found dead at an Oregon ski resort a day after another snowboarder suffered a fatal fall in the same area, authorities said Tuesday.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Officers initially responded at about 2:20 a.m. to a report of trash cans burning near a residence in the 800 block of South Mary Avenue. The fire damaged a fence and parked vehicle before being extinguished, public safety officials said.

The two break-in sites are 11 miles apart. Authorities have not yet said if the break-ins are connected. 

The first report came in at 5:18 p.m. of shots fired. Shortly thereafter, another caller reported a man had been shot and was down, according to police.

A northbound Caltrain on Monday struck and killed 32-year-old San Jose resident Michelle Tjhia just north of the Sunnyvale station around 6 a.m. Monday.

Michael Depaulo allegedly called GoDaddy on Monday and said he was minutes away from walking into the company's offices and shooting people with a shotgun, according to the Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety.
