No officers were injured in the shooting.

Vallejo police said the death is Vallejo’s 16th homicide of the year.

Police did not release the suspect's name, but said he “was known to the victim."

Fairfield police reported that the suspect broke into a home in the area and robbed the homeowner of their keys.

A newly released report found that Vallejo had the poorest road conditions in the Bay Area for the second consecutive year.

A California Highway Patrol aircraft was overhead and allegedly saw the driver throw “an object" into some bushes before fleeing into a residence.

An earthquake with a magnitude of 3.6 struck near Vallejo on Thursday afternoon, according to the US Geological Survey. 

Police in Fairfield temporarily closed a portion of the I-80 highway at Travis Boulevard on Saturday morning while responding to a person who was suffering a mental health crisis.

Officers recovered the minor from the hotel and confirmed that they were reported missing out of Riverside County, and they were also considered at "high risk for sexual exploitation."

Fairfield police are investigating the circumstances of the shooting, and said “there is no active threat to the community."
